How to Get Perfect Smokey Eyes at Home

First you have to prepare your eyes for make-up. You can choose either natural shades or non-skin tone eye shadow. Natural shades will look softer while non-skin tone look more apparent. Generally natural eye shadow base is preferred as it last the make-up for longer time.

For top and bottom eye rims, first you should use eye pencil. Start making thin line at the inner corner of the eye, gradually making thicker as you want. Liquid eyeliner is also very handy to use, try experimenting with both pencil and liquid eyeliner as you get two different effects. The line should be thicker in the middle of the eye. Use the pencil liner from the inner eye corner to the outer.

Now apply dark shadow using a sponge tip applicator or g-tip and smudge to set the look. Blend it well. Then gradually build up your desired color.

Now apply lighter shadow in a natural tone by using wet or dry large brush.

For perfect blended look, now encircle the entire eye area gradually.

To finish your smokey look now apply mascara.

Using fluppy brush, clean up the shadow that has fallen below the eye.

For more dramatic look you can apply more shadow and mascara.

Two – three coats of mascara on both upper and lower lashes should be sufficient.
