Lakme Fashion Week is just finished and I am so much excited to show you my favorite collection out of them and that is none other than Gaurang’s Patan Patola collection called “Stridhan” which basically means a woman’s personal bounty.
Gaurang is known for showcasing ace textiles and at LFW he introduced the beauty of patan patola, the gorgeous fabric from Patan, Gujarat. Being a Gujarati I have seen Patolas earlier but after seeing this beautiful collection I must say, I am fond of Patolas. I need them badly 😉

Patola is an extremely intricate and one of the finest weave of Indian Textile art. A Patolu sari takes nearly 1-2 years to weave.

“Amalgamating this exotic fabric with my signature fabric- Khadi, I wanted to give a whole new dimension to the patolu. Accentuated with parsi embroidery, kanjeevaram borders, gota’s and fabric textures.” says the designer Gaurang.

Kirron Kher was the showstopper for Gaurang Shah’s LFW 2013 collection. She walked the ramp wearing a Patota drape designed by Gaurang Shah.
