Revlon Creme de la Chrome Lipgloss
Revlon is usually my top recommendation for consistently good drugstore brand lip products. Revlon Creme de la Chrome Liquid Lipcolor is yet another nice offering.
I tried Creme de la Chrome in the shade Plum Appeal, which is a deep plum/red. The shade was a bit dark for my pale skin, but still was quite lovely. In the deep shades, this gloss acts almost as a stain. I found that I could apply it, wipe it off, and be left with nicely stained lips. So that dark shade can work for me after all!
The gloss is high shine with a very nice shimmery, luminous effect. It isn’t frosty or overly shimmery– instead it sort of just glows. I love it and plan to try it out in some lighter shades!

Revlon Sugar Sugar Lip Topping
Revlon lists its Sugar Sugar Lip Topping as a limited edition product, but it has been out for quite a long time now. I kept putting off trying it because it honestly seemed a bit silly to me, but I finally broke down and bought one in Sprinkled Pink.
The topping is interesting stuff. It really is just like shimmery colored sugar to put on over your gloss. I kind of liked the effect of it. It adds some texture and looks very unique. I would suggest it for a night out at the club. I think younger people would also particularly have fun with it.
My only real problem with the sugar topping was that it felt odd and I kept rubbing my lips together, which generally removed it pretty quick. It also will not last at all through a drink or food, so be prepared to reapply often. But hey! If you want to goof off and try something unique and fun, this is something that could be of interest.

Revlon Mix and Mingle Spring Collection Lip Gloss
I purchased a Revlon Mix & Mingle Lip Palette in Chatty Cherry at a local drugstore and love the look that it gives.
The gloss is part of a very pretty spring collection that focuses on sheer, light, and feminine shades. With three shades swirled together in a little pot, you can control the color a bit. For example, Chatty Cherry has a swirl of berry red, with frosted pink and lighter tan. Mixed together, they give a very light berry pink color, with a lot of nice shine. No issues with stickiness. For a more berry red shine, I use the red portion alone.
One thing to note is that the color tint to this is very light, so to get a decent tint, I tend to focus on the red, and even then it is like a tinted glow–a particularly pretty tinted glow at that! I liked that, but be aware that keeping in line with the light and feminine theme of the collection, the Mix and Mingle glosses aren’t meant to be much more than a sheer tinted gloss. If you want serious color, you will be better off with a lipstick.
The collection also has some standard glosses in beautiful limited edition shades. Revlon makes great standard tube gloss, and a couple of my all time favorite shades are from their limited edition collections.
All of the Revlon Mix and Mingle products were selling out fast at local drugstore when I was shopping for it, so look for it quickly if you are interested!

The Joy of Gold Lip Gloss
Silver and gold, silver and gold….
I am a sucker for gold lip gloss. I like it alone for a bit of sparkle and I love it over lipstick for some added depth. Mix it with another gloss, and it adds a new dimension! The same can be done with silver gloss, but gold looks so much better on most people and mixes better with most colors.
This 24k sexy gold lip gloss is ideal. Plus the packaging is so pretty.
Another one of my favorite uses of this and other gold glosses (psst…Revlon makes a great one) is to pair it up with Benefit’s benetint. The Benetint stains the lips nicely and then the gloss adds a shimmer that also helps the stain last longer. For a drug store version, check out Revlon Just Bitten. I prefer Benetint, but have also been very pleased with Just Bitten, which is about half the cost.
There are many great gold glosses out there. Interested in more? Comparison shop for gold lip gloss.

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain
I am a pretty big fan of lip stains. They keep color on your lips for a long time, and unlike the long wearing lip products that feel first sticky and then dry, lip stain is comfortable to wear.
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain is no different. I picked one up in the shade plum wicked, which looks very much like the same shade as Benefit benetint. The color is a nice sheer plum/red that looks quite natural. There are also several other shades available.
The only downside to this stain for me was that it has a roller ball applicator. I find it hard to apply those without accidentally getting some stain outside of the lip area. Fortunately, the Revlon stain does not set instantly and any mistakes are easily removed.
The shade looks especially nice with some clear gloss over it. I am trying out both a Neutrogena clear gloss and an Elizabeth Arden right one now and both worked well over it. Look for write ups on those glosses soon!
A companion product is the Revlon Pinch Me Sheer Gel Blush. For a review of this cheek stain, head on over to my write up at Beauty and Fashion Tech!
