MAC Viva Glam Swatches, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper

All proceeds from sales of MAC cosmetics Viva Glam go to AIDS charities through the MAC AIDS Fund. This year, the MAC Viva Glam spokeswomen are Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper. Great choices in my opinion! Also this year, the lip shades are not deep reds, unlike many past years.

The new VIVA GLAM collection has two lipsticks – Viva Glam Cyndi (Light Coral Red) and Viva Glam Gaga (Light Blue Pink), as well as corresponding makeup bags.

Both MAC Viva Glam shades are quite nice. For the pink lovers, the Lady Gaga is a pretty, but still a bit vibrant light pink. the Cyndi Lauper Viva Glam shade is my favorite though. It is a nice coral red that gives a sheer neutral to warm rosy red look. It lean toward coral, but not as much as the description would make it seem.

Below are swatches of the two shades. It is a total coincidence that they happened to perfectly match my Hello Kitty Band-Aid. Yes, I really do wear Hello Kitty Band-Aids (blush)!

I suspect that I will be wearing the Cyndi Lauper Viva Glam shade quite a bit this spring.

Five Top Holiday Beauty Gifts

Here are my top five holiday lip items that are great either as gifts or for yourself!

(3) MAC Lip Kit : MAC Cosmetics always put out a nice set of lip kits for the holidays.

(4) NARS ‘D. Lovely’ Lip Gloss Duo Set: Nars put out this great lip gloss selection for the holidays.

(5) Juicy Loves Sephora Bowler Lip Gloss Charm Crystal (light pink): This Juicy Couture lip gloss charm, sold exclusively at Sephora is so darn cute!

MAC Holiday Lip Kits and Bags

I managed to sneak in a field trip to the MAC store to see the new MAC Holiday Collection . The MAC lip bags this year are quite nice. I like the silver bags, and the colors in both sets are quite attractive. One set is a selection of pretty pinks, and the other collection is akin to brick red in color.

The lip kits are also nice, as usual. One kit has neutral shades and the other has pinks. There is also a MAC Viva Glam set. Again, I like the cases on these quite a bit this year.

Finally, there are new dazzleglasses out for the holidays, including two very nice pinks. The shades are softer this year, and I rather like that!

MAC DazzleGlass Creme

M.A.C. Dazzleglass Creme has all of the sparkle and shine of Dazzleglass with the color payout and pigment of M.A.C. Cremesheen. It makes for a great combination.

I tried out three shades, swatched below from left to right: Luscious Spark, Perfectly Ordinary, and do it Up.

As you can see from the swatch, the color payout is incredible. These aren’t my favorites in terms of shades, but they certainly have pigment! I also had less stickiness with these too than I sometimes have with regular M.A.C. lipglass.

MAC Cosmetics Sun Tints SPF 20 Liquid Lip Balm

MAC sent me a sample of their MAC Cosmetics SunTints Liquid Lip Balm, SPF 20 that is part of their Baby Bloom collection, available now through September, 2009.

This tube lip gloss has a sheer tint and good moisturizing feel to it. One note of cautionis to apply it a bit on the heavier side (you don’t have to pack it on or anything though) to avoid any stickiness.

Gloss and sun are not always the best mix, so it is always nice to see new additions that include SPF!
