ChapStick True Shimmer

That old standby, ChapStick, has released a neat new version of their balm: ChapStick True Shimmer .

Chaps2 Chaps1

I really like these balms. They have the same consistency as regular ChapStick—medium to heavy in thickness and fairly waxy, so they last for quite awhile, and also quite moisturizing. What is added are great flavor and a very subtle shimmer. You need not worry about things being overdone. The shimmer is barely noticeable, but is enough to add a bit of shine to the lips.

There are two flavors available: Botanical Berry , which has tropical berry/raspberry flavor to it, iconand Tropical which has a fruity coconut type of flavor.  Both are nice and provide a good diversion from the more standard lip balm flavors that are out there.

ChapStick is available just about everywhere and the True Shimmers generally retail for $2.79. They are $2.49 at the links above.

ChapStick Pink Packs for the Cure

This one is on my must buy pink products list!

Chapstick Pink Pack
ChapStick is donating $125,000 this year to the Susan G. Komen For a Cure Foundation with proceeds from its ChapStick Susan G. Komen for the Cure Pink Packs. Here is the lowdown:

Made from the same ingredients found in ChapStick Moisturizer, the ChapStick Susan G. Komen for the Cure Pink Pack includes three tubes of lip balm that:

  • Is designed to keep lips looking and feeling soft and healthy with a blend of 10 protective moisturizers
  • Includes Aloe and Vitamin E
  •  Features SPF 15 to protect lips from the sun’s harmful rays

ChapStick Pink Pack is available at food, drug and mass merchandise stores throughout the U.S. during the month of October.

Look for it at around $3.99. Personally, I can’t resist a pink lip balm tube with SPF 15!

ChapStick 100% Naturals, One of the Best Balms Available!

Chapstick NaturalsBbotanical Medley Lip Balm It is pretty rare that I declare something “best,” but I am going to do it with the fairly new ChapStick Botanical Medley. This all natural lip balm is simply amazing.

First off, I like a fairly heavy balm, meaning one that feels a bit thick, sticks around for a while, and gives intense moisture. ChapStick lives up to that quite well with its Botanical Medley balm. The feel of it is wonderful and I don’t find myself reapplying it constantly. It also has a nice scent.

Here are the ingredients:

Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Jojoba Esters, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Bees Wax, Natural Flavors, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Copernicia Cerifera (Camauba) Wax, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum (Shea Butter) Extract, Tocopherol

That is a nice ingredient list in terms of many moisturizing agents, and the various waxes keep it long lasting. My only complaint on this one is that I would like to see a sunscreen version.

Also from ChapStick is the related ChapStick Lip Butter. This is a creamier, more conditioning stick. It also feels a bit lighter than the Botanical Medley balm. I am quite impressed with the lip butter as well, but I prefer the balm.
