This is a reader review of Almay Line Smoothing Makeup.
I’ve been a fan of Almay foundation for several years. Not too long ago, the company stopped selling a precise product that I really liked, and I briefly attempted to make a switch to another brand. Within a few days, I was back at the store and back with Almay. No one else seems to make liquid foundation that works better for my face and complexion.
The product I’m currently using is Almay Line Smoothing makeup. It’s a liquid base foundation that comes in a 1 oz. bottle with a screw top lip. Unlike many liquid foundations that can be too thin or too thick, Almay Line Smoothing seems to have the perfect consistency. I usually have to shake the bottle a bit against my palm to get some of it out. Once I’ve poured some onto my palm, I use a fingertip to smooth it onto my face. It glides on smoothly and blends so easily. I never feel like I’ve got too heavy a layer or that it’s going to wear off too soon.
Although this foundation could definitely be used for fairly complete coverage, I tend to use it most for problem skin areas. I have splotchy red complexion areas in my t-zone, around my nose and especially my cheeks. I blend the makeup over those problem areas and am amazed at how well it works to even out my uneven skin tone. Now that I am in my forties, I also struggle with some dry sky patches on my face. This makeup never makes my skin feel dry. Almay claims that it helps to hydrate skin. It lists “replenishing hydrators and refreshing cucumber” on the bottle. It also provides SPF 15 sun protection.
Almay Line Smoothing makeup is hypoallergenic. It washes off easily with warm water and facial cleanser or soap, and has never clogged my pores.
Almay products are readily available at many stores. You can find this liquid foundation in many places. The price is reasonable, especially if you use it more for problem areas than overall coverage.
