Murad Soothing Skin, Lip, and Cuticle Care Review

Murad has a neat new double (triple even) duty treatment product, the Soothing Skin, Lip, and Cuticle Care stick. This pen-shaped tube contains a super moisturizing oil with Vitamin E and lanolin that you click up to apply. I absolutely love it on my lips and I gave it try on my cuticles and liked it for that as well. Got dry skin? You could also put it on itchy dry patches. The thin tube is easy to carry and easy to use.

Murad Soothing Skin, Lip, and Cuticle Care reminds me in many ways of the Aquafina lip oil, which is next to impossible to find now, but without the strong peppermint aroma and flavor that the Aquafina product had. Murad’s oil is generally odorless and unflavored. I saw one Murad review that mentioned a good flavor, but I don’t recall noticing anything in particular.

The oil also contains salicylic acid, which is great for gentle exfoliation. So this is a nice double duty product that can moisturize and lightly exfoliate dead skin at the same time.

I seriously love this one and consumer Murad reviews on the Murad site have been quite good as well. You can view those by hitting the product link above. If you like using oils, check it out!

Green by Nature Strawberry Mint Lip Glaze

Green by Nature is a natural products company that focuses on affordability. From their literature:

green by nature believes in fresh, pure and natural personal care products. No artificial fragrances, no harmful preservatives, no chemical ingredients you can’t pronounce. It’s that simple.  It’s what they stand for. Consumers will feel confident in knowing that all green by nature products are 100% free of Parabens, DEA, Petroleum, Propylene Glycol, Sulfates, Sacchrine, Dioxin and Phthalates.

Products are stamped with the percent of natural ingredients. I gave the green by nature strawberry mint lip glaze lip a try, which is marked as 98.6% natural.

The lip glaze is really akin to a lip oil. If you have tried the Aquafina lip oil (read review), green by nature’s product is quite similar. The oil packs a big mint taste and I liked the hint of strawberry added to it. The back of the tube has a long list of oils that are in it, which explains why it is so darn moisturizing. I really, really like this item!

Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil

Aquafina Hydrating Lip OilAquafina, as in the Pepsico bottled water product, has one heck of a great new lip product. If you like minty moisturizing gels, you absolutely must RUN and get this new item!

What is it? It is Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil. Where is it? At grocery and drug stores near you for around only $3. (Update 2/3/2010: This product is getting hard to find. However, read the comments for suggestions and also check eBay. I saw a number of lip items on there from Aquafina.)

This gel/oil is one tasty, moisture packing, shine imparting, product! I hope it becomes popular, because I foresee going through many tubes of the stuff. With vitamin E, sweet almond and jojoba oil, it moisturizes quite well, yet it is gel enough in consistency that it sticks around awhile, so reapplication isn’t needed horribly often.

But then, even though it might not be needed, you may find yourself reapplying it often because of the taste. The product contains menthol and it has a great minty menthol taste and a bit of a menthol tingle. It also is quite strong. While there are plenty of mint balms and gels out there, I haven’t come across very many with a menthol taste and tingle like this one. I love it! Of course if you hate strong tastes in a lip product, then you won’t want this one. But the menthol and mint lovers out there will certainly enjoy this one.

I have been coming across rave reviews of this one in all sorts of places, so it seems that I’m not the only one who is in love with it. Look for it at your local drugstore.
