Laura Geller Lip Dream Creams Lip Palette
I love, love, love, my Laura Geller Lip Dream Creams Palette in Apricot (it also is available in Berry). This palette with four shades of thick, creamy color is describe by Laura Geller as “combining the coverage of a lipstick with the comfort and shine of a gloss.” It is an accurate description.
The shades have a smooth texture and provide good coverage, similar to that of a medium sheer lipstick. But the product ultimately feels like a gloss and has some shine to it like a gloss. The shades also have a bit of metallic sheen that is rather unique and is very pretty. It is a great product! Wear it alone or over your favorite lipstick. The palette also comes with a very nice retractable brush.
Below are swatches of the shades from the Apricot Palette.
This one is a big favorite of mine, and adds to my current very favorable impression of Laura Geller cosmetics.

Cargo Blu_ray Lip Gloss, A New Favorite!
I may have found my perfect shade of lip gloss. Awhile back I got a sample of Cargo Blu-ray gloss from a Cargo Blu_ray Lip Gloss Quad. The Blu_ray line is promoted as “high definition makeup” that was designed for make-up artists to use for high definition filming. Of course, Cargo promotes and sells it to the everyday buyer too.
The gloss is packaged in a four color palette, but I received a sample of only the rosy pink shade. That shade turned out to be absolutely perfect for me. You will often read that for a natural, lightly tinted lip, look for a shade that matches the skin on the inside of your lip. The cargo shade was a perfect match for me. The gloss itself is pretty well pigmented and a bit thick, but not sticky. I’m always impressed with high tint that avoids stickiness, it is a hard combination to find sometimes. The gloss also has a very light and pleasant peppermint scent and flavor.
The look of the gloss is fabulous. It is not too shiny, but not totally matte either. Basically it is a nice even and natural looking color that feels great.
I liked this one so much that I ordered the quad online the same day that I tried the sample. I’ll swatch it when it arrives and post up the picture. Cargo Blu_ray gloss will also be making my best of 2008 list.

Pixi Lip Palette
Pixie cosmetics are now being carried by Target. Among the wider range of products are some very nice palettes, including a set of lip palettes, each containing 8 Pixi lip glow cremes. I bought the Perfect Rose palette one and found it to be a fairly nice palette.
The palette itself is made of light green plastic, which felt a bit cheap to me considering the price, but it still was of decent enough quality. A mirror and a small serviceable brush are included. The lip shade are all quite nice, with some being quite sheer and a few being more of a medium sheer. They feel great on the lips and last fairly well. Below are swatches of the shades in the same order that they appear in the palette:
As you can see, the top row is much more sheer than the bottom. On the whole, this palette provides a great way to obtain eight useful shade in one color family. Besides the Perfect Rose palette that I tested, the company offers the Perfect Bronze and Tan Topper Palettes with additional shades.
Look for Pixi in the Target beauty aisles or online. To read abut the eye shadow palettes, take a look at my review on Beauty on Fashion Tech.

Senna Cosmetics Lip Sync Duo: Lipstick and Gloss Together
I am in loooooove with lipstick/gloss combos! Awhile back I raved about the Sonia Kashuk combo (read review). Now I am adoring the Senna Lip Sync in Paris Pink, which combines a sheer rose lipstick with a pink gloss. Senna describes their Lip Sync duos as follows:
The user-friendly lipstick-lipgloss duo is available in three shades that look stunning no matter how you mix and match them. A La Mode is a soft rose peach lipstick paired with a sparkling peach gloss, Stunning pairs earthy coral glowing lipstick with a golden-hued gloss and Paris Pink combines a true rose lipstick with a soft warm pink gloss.Lip Sync formulas are flavored to taste like almond biscotti and include natural ingredients such as shea butter, sweet almond oil, green tea extract and Maxi Lip®. These conditioning and soothing elements ensure that lips stay super moist and that the color they provide won’t fade.
The Paris Pink duo is indeed quite nice. The lipstick is creamy and smooth with a great shade. It is sheer but not too sheer. Instead of matching the shade, the gloss is done in a compatible shade of pink. So either could be worn alone, or they work well together. The gloss is not at all sticky and the light flavor is pleasant.
Below are swatches from the Paris Pink set:
On the left is the lipstick, the middle is the lipstick combined with gloss, and on the right is the gloss alone.
