Kiss me contains a blend of highly moisturizing ingredients such as kiwi, almond oil and Vitamin E to provide intense moisture that will both treat and prevent the appearance of chapped lips. SPF 20 provides protection from the sun and it also has a very light peppermint flavor and scent. Kiss Me comes in a clear and red shade and is within the range of $10-$12.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Gloss Serum

Guerlain’s gloss is a high-end product is a high-shine lip gloss that protects the lips from signs of aging. It is also a waterproof formula that provides long-lasting wear that is also waterproof.  Highly popular among luxury lip products, this product is available at Nordstrom in eight different shades ranging from nudes to pinks and has a price of $31.50.

Dior Addict Ultra Lip Gloss

My personal favorite, Dior Addict Ultra Gloss will give lips a high-shine effect through the use of light-reflecting micro pearls. The Dior formulation is developed to create lips that are around 35 percent fuller and more hydrated after four weeks of use in comparison to other lip glosses available. Hyaluronic spheres provide anti-aging benefits while also creating the appearance of fuller lips that are moisturized. Sephora has over 10 shades of this lip gloss ranging from light pink to dark plum and is $27 per lip gloss.

Cover Girl Shine Blast Lip Gloss

Cover Girl Shine Blast consists of light-reflecting spheres that creates a shiny look when applied to the lips. It has a unique applicator that is designed to give lips a more defined and voluminous look after application. There are nearly 20 shades to choose from and they range from clear to dark burgundy. This product is available at most drugstores for a price of $8.99 and is a good bargain product.

Too Faced Glamour Gloss is a high pigment lip plumping gloss that comes in a variety of nice shades. I gave two shades a try and was quite impressed with the level of pigment in this non-sticky gloss. Many lip plumpers are more on the oily and sheer side, so some high pigment color is nice to see! I found that the plumper had a decent amount of tingle, and enough to notice a bit of plumping, but it wasn’t overbearing. Keep in mind that the best pumpers will tingle some. Personally I like the sensation.

the Luna Twilight Makeup Collection has some interesting items with neat packaging. One that really intrigued me was the Luna Twilight Duwop Lip Venom, so I eagerly went out to Nordstrom to see it and fully planned to buy it if I liked it. I ended up coming home empty handed.

The idea of the Twilight Lip Venom is that there is lip stain at the bottom and clear plumper at the top. In theory, you dip the the applicator into the bottom for stain, only in the top for clear plumper, or shake it up to get both. That is it in theory. I had a hard time getting it to work well in practice. When I tried to just get stain, I still ended up with oily plumper as well that washed the stain away. When I shook it up, I had better results, but the stain still sat on top of the plumper, making it hard to get an even stained look. Here it is on my hand which, unfortunately, was as even as I could get it. This is taken outside in natural light after it dried.

I ended up disappointed, in part perhaps because I had such high hopes for this product. The overall shade of the stain is nice, but I don’t want to battle with a product to get an even color application. You can get a more even look with a standard lip stain. Then, if you want plumping, add regular Lip Venom or your other favorite plumper over it.

I definitely plan to get the staining lip balm. Who wouldn’t want color, conditioning, and natural sun protection all in one? And, of course, the package is nice.

OK, here is an interesting, if not a bit odd, product. Luscious Lips is a manual lip plumper.

You actually use this device to manually plump your lips. Here is what the company says about it:

Luscious Lips is a lip pump that increases blood flow to the mouth. The device creates a vacuum seal around the mouth in order to bring fluid into the lips. A few pumps a day will leave your lips smoother, firmer, and up to 50% larger.

To use:
Simply tilt your head back and place the Luscious Lips device over your mouth. Hold the device firmly, and suck out all of the air to create the vacuum. Then, gently pull the outer cylinder slowly, and you will begin to feel your lips pull into the cylinder. Hold for a few seconds and then release and repeat until you reach the desired plump.

The company cautions that beginners must start with a 2 week conditioning process to allow their lips and mouth to gradually build up the tissues in the mouth.

I gave it a try and definitely recommend that slower start. It doesn’t feel like the device is doing much when in use, but you can feel it after! As for seeing plumping, from the get go I did see some that would last for a hour or more after each use. The cream that comes with the deluxe set is also kind of nice. It isn’t a balm. It is a regular cream that absorbs nicely and leave the lips quite soft.

Luscious Lips retails for $49.95. The Deluxe Kit is $59.95 and includes the moisturizing cream.

If you was serious color payoff, Lipstick Queen products are the way to go. Lipstick lovers rave about the lip stick shades, and now the line welcomes Big Bang Theory – Illusion Gloss to the collection.

This gloss aims at using the right ratio of shimmer to shine to create the illusion of plumper lips (it is not an actual lip plumper) and is available in the following eight shades:

• Time – shimmery golden nude
• Expansion – shimmery pale pink
• Space – shimmery grey pink
• Infinite – shimmery pinky peach
• Black Hole – shimmery deep wine
• Creation – shimmery rose
• Cosmos – shimmery ruby

I gave a tube a try and the color payoff is amazing. This is a well tinted gloss, yet it is not sticky and does indeed have a great shimmer to shine ratio.

I love lip plumpers, but it is no secret that I think most of them don’t really work. I just still love them because I like the bit of tingling sensation that they give and many of them are still really nice glosses. Well, once in awhile one comes along that actually seems to work too, and then I get really impressed.

Prana Plumping Diva Lips gloss has a particularly strong sensation to it, and when I tried it I did get some actual visible plumping from it that lasted for a decent amount of time.

Here is a bit on it from the company literature:

Vitamin-based stimulants enhance circulation and produce the lush fullness. Collagen-enhancing Centella Asiatica helps lip stay naturally plump, instead of thinning with age – a nice long-term improvement. Overall, the gloss from this one is also quite nice. It is very shiny and there is no stickiness. The addition of sunscreen is also a nice touch. I don’t have a photo of this one, but it is a fairly standard sized tube with a sponge applicator. Diva Lips runs at $36 for a .23 oz tube at the Prana website.

DuWop Venom Rocks! Is a set of three limited edition shades of DuWops popular Venom lip plumper. This is a great, under $25 gift for a lip gloss aficionado.

Update: Beauty Addict looked at the DuWop Venom Rocks kit in the store and reports that it is rather tiny. I had not seen it in person.

I really like Skinn Lip 3X Lip Volumizing Serum. Not so much as a plumper, but as a general conditioner. Skinn’s volumizer is a peppermint laden serum with collagen enhancing ingredients to plump the lips over time.

With a generous amount of sunflower seed oil, the volumizer also moisturizes and conditions quite well. I like it just before bed as nighttime lip treatment!

This one also comes in a generous  sized container, so it will last awhile.
