MAC SuperGlass

Just in case DazzleGlass wasn’t enough, MAC has the limited edition MAC SuperGlass.

MAC Superglass

SuperGlass is a lip gloss blended with small, medium, and large pearls to create a three dimension look full of flash and dazzle with sheer to medium coverage. It comes in vanilla flavor, although I don’t think MAC’s vanilla really tastes all that much like vanilla.

These super sparkle lip glosses are not my personal preference, but for those who want a lot of glitter and glam, this is the one to buy for over the top sparkle!

Too Faced Glamour Gloss Lip Plumper and Swatches

Too Faced Glamour Gloss is a high pigment lip plumping gloss that comes in a variety of nice shades. I gave two shades a try and was quite impressed with the level of pigment in this non-sticky gloss. Many lip plumpers are more on the oily and sheer side, so some high pigment color is nice to see! I found that the plumper had a decent amount of tingle, and enough to notice a bit of plumping, but it wasn’t overbearing. Keep in mind that the best pumpers will tingle some. Personally I like the sensation.

Here is what Too Faced cosmetics has to say about their Glamour Gloss and then a couple of swatches are below that.

A super shine lip gloss collection with a natural plumping and cooling action. Our richly pigmented shade is a chic choice for today’s glam girl.

  • Pain Free, Pretty Plump: An innovative and luxurious feeling gloss formula provides the plumping results of Lip Injection with a sensual cooling sensation.
  • High Color Impact: A wide range of long-wearing, sexy shades offer color-rich, true pigment payoff.
  • Flawless Brush-on Application: Custom tapered tip is designed to follow the natural lip shape. High quality Taklon bristles resist fraying and dispense the optimal amount of gloss.
  • Natural Plumping System: Natural rice lipids and dehydrated marine spheres work directly with the body’s hydration system to collect moisture and plump lips.
  • Firming and Anti-Aging: A combination of Omega 3, 6 and 9, Natural Vitamin E, Jojoba and Avocado oils hydrate and moisturize lips for a youthful appearance.

Below are swatches of the shades Pillow Talk and Peek-a-Boo:

Sue Devitt Lip Pencil and Gloss

Sue Devitt is one of those cosmetic companies that can get overlooked, but shouldn’t. The company always has quality items and their lip products are no exception. I recently gave a Sue Devitt Lip Intensifier Pencil in Kirakira and a Sue Devitt Microquatic Lip Enhancing Gloss iconin Telina a try.

Sue Devitt lip gloss Sue Devitt lip pencil

The lip pencil is rather neat and unique. It is thicker than standard pencils, yet not as thick as a lip crayon. It also is on the soft side, but not so soft that lining is difficult. The result is that you can line well with it, but also fill in well with it. The shade is also a good neutral that would wear well across multiple skin shades. Since I like to fill in with liner before putting on other lip products, this one has quickly become a regularly used product for me.

The Sue Devitt gloss is also quite nice. It wears sheer, but is still pretty well pigmented. It is not at all sticky and has just a hint of shimmer to it. Mostly it is all shine. The gloss has a brush applicator. I noticed that the shade Telina on the Beauty.com site and in product photos looks rather Fuchsia, when it actually is a nice light pink. So, I grabbed it and the pencil and made swatches. Those are below.

Shiny Goodness! Avon Glazewear Lip Gloss and Swatches

Avon sent me a set of their Glazewear lip glosses to test. Surprisingly, I had not tried Avon Glazewear before, but I have always liked the MARK lip glosses. According to Avon, Glazewear is the number one lip gloss in the U.S, although I have no idea how lip gloss popularity for that was measured. Regardless, they are quite nice glosses, and I give them a big thumbs up.

Avon Glazewear lipgloss set

Glazewear comes in three types: Intense, Shine, and Sparkle. Each type has five shades to choose from and there is also a clear Glazewear available, giving 16 options total. The intense shades are very well pigmented. Shine shades do have additional shine, but they are also almost as well pigmented as the intense shades. The sparkle shades are quite dazzling and are slightly more on the sheer side, yet still have decent pigment to them. None of the Avon Glazewear glosses are sticky. They are unflavored, and feel comfortable and moisturizing. All of the glosses use sponge applicators.

One benefit to having the whole set is the ability to take complete swatches, so below are all 15 tinted shades of Avon Glazewear. These are also in the same order as shown as in the box above.  First up are the Intense and shine shades. From left to right: (Intense shades) Crimson, Cherry Liqueur, Intense Plum, Brown Sugar, Sweet Maple (Shine Shades) Mauve Movement, Darling Pink, Tickled Pink, Iced Pink, Island Glow.

Avon Glazewear Lip Gloss Swatches

Here are the Avon lip gloss swatches for the sparkle shades: Mocha Latte, Rave, Apple Cinnamon, Mirage, Dazzling Diamond.

As you can see, the pigment is good throughout the line. I particularly like the gold and white sparkle glosses for wear over a long wear lip liner such as Makeup Forever Lip Pencil (I still need to review this wonderful liner) or one of the lovely MAC lip pencils (link is to previous review), or try it over lipstick. I have been using the clear over lipstick as well.

Overall, this is a quality line. As a bonus, these normally run at a very affordable $6, and are also sometimes placed on sale for as low at $1.99.

NARS Lip Treatments and NARS 2010 Summer Collection

I had the pleasure of meeting with representatives of NARS Cosmetics last week and viewing the new NARS Summer Collection for 2010. Among the lip items were a set of NARS Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatments which are wonderful little tinted lip balms.  These thin balms include sun protection and are made with Wild Mango Butter, Vitamin E, Polar Berries and Açai Oil. Texture is that of a medium balm. So it is buttery and lasts fairly well.

There are six shades—one clear and 5 tinted. The NARS Lip Treatment Balms are quite sheer, so they don’t all show well in my swatch below. However, they do build a bit, so if you get one of the highest tinted ones (such as Angelique), you will see more color from it. Swatches are below, but I lost track of which are which. Angelique is the brightest one to the right though.

New lip shades for the Summer Collection include NARS Lip Gloss Coup de Coeur and NARS Lipstick Love Devotion.  The lipstick is a coral shade that is rather sheer. It can be built up for more color, but I prefer it on the sheer side. The gloss is a richer shade that pairs nicely with the lipstick to darken things up a bit.  NARS’ gloss tends to wear well and is not sticky.
