Easy Peasy Lip Scrub At Home

Today brings just a quickie lip tip for you. Do you need a lip scrub and don’t want to pay for a fancy pot scrub or balm? Simply get out a bit of brown sugar and mix it with a little olive oil. Rub in on your lips for a moisturizing scrub!

Another option is to use dry powdered strawberry jello (the kind with sugar, don’t get sugar free) for a bit of a scrub that will leave a tint behind.

Garden Botanika Vitamin E Stick

I love Vitamin E sticks for lips. They soothe and smooth and generally protect as well as any balm. Garden Botanika makes a particularly nice one.

The Garden Botanika Vitamin E Stick protects and conditions with Vitamin E and Olive Oil. It also contains Emollient Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Meadowfoam and Sunflower Oil for extra moisturizing. There are no fragrances, mineral oil or lanolin derivatives.

I carry mine around with me for indoor use and particularly love it when I either get a bit wind chapped in summer (you can use this on your regular skin just as well as on the lips) or if I get dry in the winter.

Lavanila Healthy Lip Butter and Shine

Lavanila Laboratories specializes in various natural bath and body products, and their Lavanila Healthy Lip Butter is a huge new favorite of mine. This tube lip conditioner is all natural and contains a number of my favorite moisturizing ingredients. It applies just like a tube gloss and gives a bit of shine as well. Consider it a thicker (but not sticky) buttery gloss! It lasts for quite a while too and has SPF 15. Made with vanilla, it also has a nice scent and light taste. M.A.C Cosmetics Hello Kitty Lip Conditioners

When MAC Cosmetics released their Hello Kitty Collection, I immediately bought both of the limited edition lip conditioner shades. My initial thinking was that these would be like the tendertones conditioners (read previous review). I turned out to be wrong, but I still love these two pot conditioners!

The conditioner in the Hello Kitty pots seems a bit thicker than the MAC tendertones balms. They also have more pigment than many of the tendertones did. Each shade imparts a nice sheer color and is indeed moisturizing. There isn’t much to them in terms of any flavor, and I could notice a bit of the taste similar to the limited edition MAC tube lip conditioners that I did not care for. However, this was greatly lessened over the taste of the tube conditioners, so I don’t really mind it.

What I love is the look of the two shades, plus the container is so darn cute! Below are swatches of the two shade. Left is Popster and right is Pink Fish:

I am quite glad now that I bought both of them!

Get MAC and Hello Kitty Now!

The MAC and Hello Kitty Collection went on sale at midnight last night. Among the items in the collection are two great new shades of tinted lip conditioner (like the tendertones pots). There are also some nice looking new lip shades with Hello Kitty packaging. I made a good number of purchases. There are still items available on the website, but this collection will likely sell out fast. It is also slated to go into stores on the 12th, but there are some rumors that it might be put out early.
