YSL Fall Color Collection Swatch: Rouge Volupté Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick

Yves Saint Laurent ‘Rouge Volupté’ Lipstick has a new shade out for fall that is gorgeous! I love this lipstick in general, but often the shades are a bit out there for my tastes. However, the new Exquisite Plum shade is perfect. It looks rather dark in online shopping color swatches, but it isn’t quite so extreme on the skin, especially since you can apply it on the sheer side if desired. Below is a swatch, along with a couple of lovely shades from a Yves Saint Laurent ‘Ombres Duolumières’ Eye Shadow Duo in anise green and intense plum. I’ll review those at some point on Beauty and Fashion Tech.

YSL Rouge Volupté lipsticks are creamy, smooth, and packed with pigment. You can do a sheer swipe with them (which I did in the picture), but add a layer or two and you can also get a more intense look. I assume the model in the picture is wearing the shade, but honestly, it was much more sheer for me in the store (which I prefer, so I didn’t try to get it too dark).

The packaging is also gorgeous. Personally, I think YSL makes some of the best lipsticks around (Dior is another favorite), but the price does reflect that.

I saved my favorite for last. I think I might buy this one. The Giorgio Armani Summer Sheers Set is a great way to obtain a pretty sheer summer lip look. From the picture I love the shades! It is a bit pricey for my budget though, so I’ll have to ponder it!

M.A.C Hello Kitty Kouture Dazzle Glass Swatches

My M.A.C Cosmetics Hello Kitty Kouture dazzle glasses arrived! The charm on the tubes is..well..charming. The shades will also be of good use to me. I like the lighter shade over just about any lip color, and the brighter pink I tend to wear alone.

My husband also saw the receipt for the purchase of the two dazzle glasses and the Swarovski crystal mirrored powder compact and told me that he really didn’t want to know how much this stuff costs!

It was definitely my splurge of the month!

M.A.C. Cosmetics Hello Kitty Kouture

Hello Kitty Kouture is now available at the MAC Cosmetics website and will be in freestanding MAC stores beginning tomorrow (March 5, 2009). This high end collection features two new Dazzleglass shades with silver chain pendants, featuring Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals on black and with a pink crystal bow ($28 each). I bought both and will post swatches when they arrive. It also includes a a polished silver Sheer Mystery Powder compact, featuring Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals and with a pink crystal bow ($90).

Luxury Lips, Holiday Charm from Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) has a beautiful holiday lip charm out just in time for the holidays.

The bow charm inspired from the famous “Bow” bag, contains an intense raspberry lipstick and a sparkling pink gloss with blue highlights to be worn alone or on top of the lipstick. It can be attached to a handbag, belt or key ring.

Dior Holiday Lip Gloss Charm and Palette

Dior’s Holiday items are now available at Nordstrom.

In the lip department, there is this lovely pendant with a shimmery copper-pink lip gloss inside. At $90, this falls into the way cool expensive gift ideas department.

Dior has also released two versions of the I Love Dior Lip Palette. The palette is available in warm and cool shades, each with four shades of gloss in a black case. $40.
