Jelly Pong Pong Hump Balm and Lip Sorbet

Jelly Pong Pong is a line of cosmetics made in Italy with a number of interesting lip products. I recently gave a couple of them a try.

Hump Balm immediately had me scratching my head over the name. I found the answer on the Jelly Pong Pong website, which describes the product like this:

Sex in a stick and so very cheeky. These sinful lip stains are named after bedroom antics, giving you a sensual after-orgasm lip shade.
Scented in aphrodisiac chocolate, they are formulated with Jojoba, Avocado, Aloe Vera, Wheatgerm, Chamomile and Vitamins A + E, to nurture your lips back to soft, pouting glory.

So now the name makes sense…..

I didn’t find the chocolate scent to be very strong in these, which actually was just fine with me. The balms are decent enough as a tinted balm with SPF added, especially considering that they carry a very reasonable price tag.

Lip Sorbet is cute little item. The small tubes of gloss are handy for putting in a pocket or small handbag. The gloss itself is not sticky, and it has a nice hint of color and shimmer, but I wasn’t completely in love with flavor of the Strawberry Jello Lip Sorbet that I tried. But the neat size kind of makes up for that!

MAC Strobe Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15

M.A.C. Strobe Tinted Lip Conditioner is a re-release of a product M.A.C. put out several years ago. I distinctly remember it, because while I loved the feel of the lip conditioner and the pretty tints that it came in, it had a bit of an off taste for me. Basically, it had that heavy lipstick taste that you sometimes get with cheap brands. So the last time around, I used up the tube that I bought, but kept wishing that M.A.C. would fix taste.

Well, here it is again. So when a couple of samples arrived for me from M.A.C., I quickly opened them up hoping for the same thing as last time minus the odd taste.

It still tastes the same.

Now to be fair, I am not seeing a lot of other people complaining about the taste (but I haven’t really looked very hard either). So maybe it is just me. Other than that, it is a delightful item. It feel nice, it protects and conditions, and the tint is just enough to be seen, but not enough to feel like you just put on a coat of lipstick.

I just wish it tasted better…….

Paula Dorf Lip Color, Cream and Sheer

I recently bought a couple of shades of Paula Dorf Lip Color For Lips. If you are not familiar with Paula Dorf products, you should be! Everything I have ever tried from Paula Dorf has been an exceptionally good product and the lipsticks are just as great.

Paula Dorf cosmetics have some of the best pigmentation around. The products contain full pigment in beautiful shades that last and last. The lip shades tend to come in two varieties: The opaque cream lip color, which has shades that are packed with pigment for nice full color looks, and the sheer lip tint, which has shades that are still well pigmented but a bit lighter on the overall coverage. I love both!

Paula Dorf also makes lip liners to match the collection, and if you are a person who loves eyeshadow with lots of pigment, you owe it to yourself to check those out as well! Now that I think about it, I also have a favorite Paula Dorf blush and lip gloss. so I foresee more Paula Dorf posts in the future!

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer is a thin stick balm that imparts a bit of shimmer and color. The balms come in a number of shades, each with a pretty strong, and quite tasty, punch of peppermint.

I adore the peppermint in Burt’s Bees balms and I appreciate that they also have a good SPF factor. Unfortunately though, the balms tend to have a bit of a whitish tint to them, especially in the lighter shades, from the titanium dioxide sunscreen. So I recommend sticking with the darker shades of these.

Tarte Lip Sheer, SPF 15

It is light, sheer, comfortable, and has a great light tint. What could make it even better? How about adding SPF 15! It is the Tarte 24.7 lip sheer SPF 15.

I love tinted lip balms and stains, which is basically what this is. Available in a variety of great shades and enhanced with vitamins A and E.

Pur Minerals Lip Tint

For all of you mineral makeup fans out there, Pur Minerals Lip Tint is a nice lip tint in an attractive package.

“Tint” is perhaps a bit of a misnomer because this product has more of the consistency of a light lipstick. I suppose the term tint was used because of the amount of the pigment.

I tried this the shade Ruby Sunset, which is a fairly deep plum/berry color. The tint is well pigmented and it lasted a long time. Plus I really, really like the silver case!

A big bonus to Pur Minerals’ lip tint is that it also offers pretty good sun protection. Overall, it is a nice product.
