How to Look Stylish on a Tight Budget

We all want to look stylish, but for many of us, we simply don’t have the spare cash to splurge on all of our favorite designers. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t look and feel great; there are plenty of ways to look stylish, even if you are on a tight budget.

Wardrobe Essentials

Invest in a few wardrobe essentials and you can use these to make a range of outfits for different occasions, which will save you time and money. A crisp white blouse is a key item to have in your wardrobe for work, as you can wear it with trousers or a pencil skirt, to create the perfect look. A black blazer is another item which you should always have on standby, as you can wear it during the day or combine it with a pair of heels and skinny jeans for a night out. Most of us will have several of these, but blue jeans are a definite essential for the wardrobe, as you can dress these up for a night out or wear them as part of a more casual look. A little black dress is also essential as it can come in really handy for an emergency night out, and saves you forking out on something new!

Swap with friends

We all have clothes we buy and then never wear again, so why not swap with your friends, and save yourself a fortune. This is also a great excuse for throwing a party, as if we need one! You’ll be surprised at how many great items you can pick up and many of them will be brand new. It also saves you having to get rid of perfectly good clothes of your own.

Online Shopping

You can save money when you buy fashion online from stores such as Zando, rather than visiting the stores. Many websites will give you a discount when you first open an account with them, and you can also get a lot of sale items with this method. A lot of stores will also offer discount vouchers which you can usually find by doing a search for them online. The good thing about online shopping is that you can compare products to get the best deal, which is much more convenient than spending hours going round different stores. Online shopping is very popular these days, which means the benefits are continuing to grow.

Customize your Clothes

Explore your creative side by making new outfits from the ones you currently have at home. For instance, denim shorts are a key trend for summer 2012, so why not turn a pair of jeans into shorts for the summer, and save yourself the expense. You can make almost any outfit into something completely different with a few clever alterations.
