I have long been a yogurt fan, but I haven’t really focused much on yogurts such as Dannon Activia, which contains a probiotic culture called Bifidus Regularis®. That active culture helps maintain good digestive health and can be beneficial to those who have occasional irregularity. I also need to increase my Calcium intake and, since yogurt is a great source of Calcium and Vitamin D, plus is a good source of lean protein, eating it regularly is a pretty good idea.
So, when asked if I would write about Dannon Activia and was given the choice to try the Activia Fourteen Day Challenge, I figured I would give it a shot. The Fourteen Day Challenge asks you to try Activia for two weeks and, if you don’t love it, they will reimburse you. See the Dannon website for details (click either image to go there).
So, I have picked up some Dannon Activia yogurt and plan to eat it every day for fourteen days. I will report back on how it goes. Since I am a runner, I plan to use it as a recovery snack after runs and, since I am also trying to lose a few pounds, I am hoping it will serve as a healthy and filling snack for me in general. It certainly will be a better choice than all the chips and such that are available around my office!
One of the first things I noticed about Activia after picking it up is that the cups are nicely portable. Since they are square in shape instead of round, they fit better in my lunch bag and in our rather small refrigerator at work. As for taste, I’m just getting started, but so far I have tried the Strawberry and really like it. I also added some frozen berries to it for breakfast, which made it particularly tasty! Anyway, check back here next week to see how I am faring half way through the the fourteen day challenge.
