It doesn't hurt. Does take a bit of practice (not much-- just a couple of days) to get the technique down and slow but consistent use will give you fuller lips. It evened out my lipline which for some reason was going assymetrical and now I have matching, beautifully shaped lips! totally agree about the slow but steady approach (otherwise you can bruise your lips from too much suction) . love that lip cream!
