Black Friday Beauty Shopping

Looking for some beauty gifts while out and about on Friday after Thanksgiving? Here are a few ideas:

* Walgreens has a great selection of affordable beauty and fragrance kits in the beauty department. For example, I spotted a Jane Cosmetics mineral makeup kit that looked great and was very affordable.

* Target also carries many home spa and beauty kits. Pick up a bath and body kit and pair it with a fluffy robe for a great holiday gift!

* At the mall, don’t overlook Sephora, the MAC Cosmetics Store and the cosmetic counters in the department stores for holiday specials.

* Need stocking stuffers? Look for nail polish, lip balm, mini perfume bottles (target sells a bunch of those in popular fragrances), and various sample size items. Many companies sell trial size kits that can be broken up into a couple of different stockings (great for the Mom and teenage daughters in your life).

Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Mini Lip Gloss Collection

Burt’s Bees sent me their Mini Lip Gloss Kit to try. These 100% Natural glosses are quite nice. The kit includes 4 shades of Burt’s Bees super shiny Lip Gloss, pictured below. From left to right: Zesty Red, Pucker Berry, Sweet Pink, and Nectar Nude.

The gloss is pretty well tinted and, although it looks a bit thick, it doesn’t feel that way. There is no stickiness whatsoever, and the glosses feel moisturizing and conditioning. There is a slight flavor to them that I can’t quite pin-point. It isn’t particularly strong and is not unpleasant. So those in the anti-flavor camp likely won’t mind this one much.

Look for Burt’s bees in drugstores, big box retailers, and stores such as ULTA Beauty.

What to Watch for Thanksgiving Week on Beauty and Fashion Tech and Girl Gloss

The holidays are officially upon us! This week will see normal posting Monday (today) an Tuesday. On Wednesday I will be posting some Black Friday shopping tips, while on Friday, I will put up some ideas for you Black Monday online shopping.

This is also the time when various holiday shopping post will start appearing more regularly. I’ll try to update the holiday shopping index as quickly as I can, but keep in mind that it usually is a few posts behind.

Sephora Brand Sweet Candy Gloss

Sephora has a really nice line of flavored and scented tube lip glosses called Sweet Candy Gloss. I picked one up in apple pomegranate and just adore the thing!

The gloss is shiny with a a bit of sparkle. The taste and smell is incredible! Yum, yum, yum! It also is not at all sticky. And as another bonus, there is a really nice tint to the one that bought. It looks good alone or over a lipstick or tint. I have quickly became rather addicted to mine.

Look for Sephora glosses in their stores (where you can try them out too) and online.
