Sally Hansen Natural Shine Lip Gloss
May 28, 2008
I am so loving the new Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Cosmetics line. So much, so that I keep covering it repeatedly. See below for other links. Now I have a new favorite gloss from the line.
The Sally Hansen Natural Shine Lipgloss is creamy, shiny, and not at all sticky. I got the shade Pretty Pink, or at least I think that is what the tiny print says, and I love it. The shade is true to the name. It is very pretty, and pink. There is a bit of shimmer to it as well. This is also a moisturizing gloss, and I have been content wearing it in place of balm.
You can find the new Sally Hansen Natural Beauty makeup line at various drugstores, big box retailers, some grocery stores, and at my favorite place for a beauty excursion:

ChapStick 100% Naturals, One of the Best Balms Available!
May 27, 2008
It is pretty rare that I declare something “best,” but I am going to do it with the fairly new ChapStick Botanical Medley. This all natural lip balm is simply amazing.
First off, I like a fairly heavy balm, meaning one that feels a bit thick, sticks around for a while, and gives intense moisture. ChapStick lives up to that quite well with its Botanical Medley balm. The feel of it is wonderful and I don’t find myself reapplying it constantly. It also has a nice scent.
Here are the ingredients:
Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Jojoba Esters, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Bees Wax, Natural Flavors, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Copernicia Cerifera (Camauba) Wax, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum (Shea Butter) Extract, Tocopherol
That is a nice ingredient list in terms of many moisturizing agents, and the various waxes keep it long lasting. My only complaint on this one is that I would like to see a sunscreen version.
Also from ChapStick is the related ChapStick Lip Butter. This is a creamier, more conditioning stick. It also feels a bit lighter than the Botanical Medley balm. I am quite impressed with the lip butter as well, but I prefer the balm.

Sonia Kashuk Sheer Lip Color and Plumping Glossy Tint.
May 23, 2008
I have a couple of new favorite lipstick shade, and best of all they each come with an attached gloss! My new love is Sonia Kashuk Sheer Lip Color and Plumping Glossy Tint in the shade Passion Fruit and the same item in the shade Paradise 01. See swatches below.
First off, the dual lipstick and gloss is a nice touch. It also, like most Sonia Kashuk items, comes in pretty packaging. I’m kinds of a sucker for that stuff.
The lipstick, as the name says, is sheer. Passion Fruit has a wonderful rose/berry tone to it, while Paradise 01 is more of a berry red. Both are nice to look at and are generally good quality for the price.
The gloss is also pretty good. It has nice shine, good tint, and is not sticky in any manner. It comes with a brush applicator, when I would rather have a sponge, but that is just a personal preference for me. The gloss is unscented and unflavored as far as I can tell. It says it is plumping in the name, but I did not notice any plumping indicators, not even the tingle that most give off. I view it as simply a decent matching gloss and that is good enough for me.
But the best part of this set is the color. I adore the shades. Below is a swatch of Passion Fruit. Also shown is a Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayon in Blossomy Nude that I quite like. It will have is own post in the near future.

Revlon Creme de la Chrome Lipgloss
May 21, 2008
Revlon is usually my top recommendation for consistently good drugstore brand lip products. Revlon Creme de la Chrome Liquid Lipcolor is yet another nice offering.
I tried Creme de la Chrome in the shade Plum Appeal, which is a deep plum/red. The shade was a bit dark for my pale skin, but still was quite lovely. In the deep shades, this gloss acts almost as a stain. I found that I could apply it, wipe it off, and be left with nicely stained lips. So that dark shade can work for me after all!
The gloss is high shine with a very nice shimmery, luminous effect. It isn’t frosty or overly shimmery– instead it sort of just glows. I love it and plan to try it out in some lighter shades!
