Sonia Kashuk Lip Glossing Pencil

Sonia Kashuk Lip Glossing PencilSonia Kashuk products are always very attractive in the package, and they tend to carry a decent price. So being the sucker that I am, I buy them, even though they have generally disappointed me in the past. My latest purchase, while not perfect, left me happy in at least one area.

The Sonia Kashuk Lip Glossing Pencil has a nice premise. There is a lip pencil in the cap and then the tube has a matching gloss.

The lip pencil disappointed me a bit. The color was fine, but it was rather hard. I found that I was tugging at my lips with it when I put it on.  Also, the pencil was lighter in color than the gloss. I would rather have that be the other way around. So there was the disappointment factor.

On the good side, the gloss rocks! I got a shimmery medium pink and really love the color of it. The gloss itself is fairly thick, but I didn’t have much of an issue with stickiness, and the shine from it was wonderful. It also lasted quite well. That made up for the pencil part, which I really didn’t buy the product for anyway.

Sonia Kashuk products can be bought online at They are also available in Target stores.

  1. Adele smith says:

I purchased the velvety matte lip crayon (pinky nude) which I love but when I went to open the crayon being that the packaging was very difficult to open the entire top of the crayon came off and I thought I could sharpen it…I can’t or thought I could twist more crayon up but I can’t.

  2. Adele: Interesting. I think it should twist up, so that must have broken too! I had something similar happen recently with an NYC pencil (it broke when I took the packaging off). I suggest returning it. Target should take it back.

  3. I too thought the matte lip crayon would sharpen or twist up. Mine does neither! I worked on it, asked me daughter and husband for help and both could not get it to twist up, peel down or sharpen. I think that the tip is all we get but it is hard to believe!

  4. The same thing happened to me. The tip broke off when I tried to open it. It sucks.

  5. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago and the tip is already used up. I can’t sharpen and it doesn’t move up I thought it was a crayon type…not just a rip off! So mad! Such a waste of $$.

  6. I’m really disappointed in the Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayon. Once the tip is used up it’s finished. I agree with Lisa, it IS a waste of $$

  1. [...] Pencil. The pencil part was not particularly impressive, but I really love the gloss. You can read more about it at Beauty and Fashion Tech’s sister site, Girl Gloss where everything is focused on lipstick [...]
